PRIVACY AND CONFIDENTIALITY POLICY

INFOPURSUIT INC. meets the highest ethical and professional standards in the field of private investigations.  InfoPursuit, Inc. is committed to maintaining the privacy of personal information with which it is entrusted.

PRIVACY PRACTICES
We believe we share a responsibility with our clients for ensuring personal information is current, accurate and complete, remains secure and is used appropriately. InfoPursuit, Inc. has established its policy based on the following principles:

1. Accountability
InfoPursuit, Inc. is responsible for personal information under its control and shall designate one person who is accountable for compliance with the following principles.

2. Identifying Purpose
InfoPursuit, Inc. shall identify the purposes for which personal information is collected at or before the time the information is collected.

3. Consent
The knowledge and consent of clients are required for the collection, use, or disclosure of personal information. InfoPursuit, Inc. will never furnish, sell, or otherwise provide client information to any third parities unless permission is  explicitly and knowingly granted by the client. 


4. Limiting Collection
InfoPursuit, Inc. shall limit the collection of personal information to that which is necessary for purposes identified by our firm. InfoPursuit, Inc. shall collect personal information by fair and lawful means.

InfoPursuit, Inc. will collect information about individuals, other than clients, only during the course of an in investigation as described in Section 7521 of the California Business and Professions Code.  InfoPursuit, Inc. will only collect the personal information of a client necessary for identification, prevention of fraud, and payment for services.

5. Limiting Use, Disclosure and Retention
Client information shall not be used or disclosed, for purposes other than those for which it was collected, by InfoPursuit, Inc. except with the consent of the individual or as required by law. Personal information shall be retained only as long as necessary for the fulfillment of those purposes.

Personal information that is collected under the definition of "investigation", as it is
defined within Section 7521 of the California Business and Professions Code, which means an investigation related to:

(a) Crime or wrongs done or threatened against the United States of America or any state or territory of the United States of America

(b) The identity, habits, conduct, business, occupation, honesty, integrity, credibility, knowledge, trustworthiness, efficiency, loyalty, activity, movement, whereabouts, affiliations, associations, transactions, acts, reputation, or character of any person

(c) The location, disposition, or recovery of lost or stolen property

(d) The cause or responsibility for fires, libels, losses, accidents, or damage or injury to persons or to property

(e) Securing evidence to be used before any court, board, officer, or investigating committee

will not be disclosed to the person under investigation when such disclosure would jeopardize said investigation or otherwise violate the confidential relationship between InfoPursuit, Inc. and the client.


6. Accuracy
Personal information shall be as accurate, complete, and up to date as is necessary for the purposes which it is to be used.

7. Safeguards
InfoPursuit, Inc. shall protect personal information by security safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information. Hard copy files will be stored
in locked file cabinets with restricted access. Electronic files will be stored in secure systems that include power-on password protection and a secure firewall. Electronic files will be password protected before being transferred electronically. Distribution of personal information will be on a need-to-know basis.

8. Openness
InfoPursuit, Inc. shall make readily available to individuals, clients specific information about its policies and procedures relating to the management of personal information.


9. Individual Access

Personal information gathered within
the United States:
InfoPursuit, Inc. shall inform a client of the existence, use and disclosure of his or her personal information upon request and shall give the client or employee access to that information. A client shall be able to challenge the accuracy and completeness of the information and have it amended as appropriate.  If InfoPursuit, Inc. denies an individual's request for access, it will state the reasons for the denial and advise the individual of his/her right to appeal to the Department of Consumer Affairs in California.  InfoPursuit, Inc. will never furnish or sell client information to any third parities unless explicitly granted permission by the client.
